November Updates

Hello friends,
October was been a busy month for Project Atchison! Between community events, creative projects, and plenty of volunteer hours, I couldn’t be prouder of the momentum we’re building together.
Our Music Bingo Night at Servaes Brewing was a huge success — over 40 people showed up for a night of music, laughter, and a little friendly competition. Thanks to your support (and four amazing volunteers), we raised $400 toward Porchfest Atchison 2026!
At the Atchison Health Fair, our volunteers spent their Saturday sharing the mission of Project Atchison, handing out superhero tattoos to the next generation of community helpers, and connecting with new faces excited to get involved.
And if you’ve driven by 9th & Commercial, you’ve seen the base coat of our mural coming to life. The early October heat slowed progress a bit, but thanks to everyone who’s put in paint hours, we’re on our way. Because winter will be upon us soon, we are looking at hiring help to finish the base coats so we can move on to the best part — bringing the full color design to life.
Looking ahead, our next community project is Rake It Forward on November 15 starting at 10am (we'll meet up at the Muchnic Gallery - 704 N 4th St). We’ll be spending the morning helping our North 4th Street neighbors with leaf cleanup as a thank you for hosting Porchfest. We’ve got plenty of equipment — now we just need at least 10 volunteers to make it happen! If you’re available, email projectatchison@gmail.com to join us.
Thank you for continuing to show up, lend a hand, and believe in what’s possible when neighbors work together.
With gratitude,
Christa Rieger
President, Project Atchison
