September Update

Greetings from Project Atchison!

I am excited to share what is going on with our wonderful group of volunteers!

• Thanks to the volunteers that helped to paint park benches around town in August. We worked with several BC students at four different park locations in town.
  

• Our next monthly meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7pm, at the Atchison Event Center (710 S. 9th). Please come to contribute your ideas. We will be planning PorchFest and other events.
  

• The Candidate Meet-and-Greet for the upcoming elections is coming on Tuesday Oct. 3 from 6-8pm at the Elks Lodge (609 Kansas Ave., Atchison). We have candidates for the 409 and 377 School Board positions and candidates for the Effingham City Council elections coming. This is an informal event where you can come talk face to face with those that are running for office. There will be snacks and a cash bar is available.
  

• We are also happy to report the donations from the Atchison Area Community Foundation Match Day; we had 15 donors give $5,884.27 to Project Atchison - with the matching funds to be added soon! These funds will help us continue our mission to make Atchison a better place to live! Thank you to all of those that gave.
