May Update

Happy Spring from Project Atchison!

With the wonderful weather coming - we have lots to do!

  • Join us at the Atchison Event Center for our monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 6 at 7pm!  All are invited, and input is welcome for upcoming events.

  • We are finishing up our Neighbors helping Neighbors Yard Cleanup! Please join us this Saturday, May 3, 10am-noon - we will be helping a neighbor on Kansas Avenue with yard cleanup and trash removal.  Please register to volunteer here.

  • PorchFest - May 10 from 2-6pm. Free music from +25 local bands on local porches! Bring your lawn chair and join us!

    • Food vendors for the event include: The Coffee Bus, Pace e Bene gelato stand, Girl Scouts bake-sale, Rogue Street Tacos, Alleyway Crafted Flavors, House of Bread Co. and Ross Family BBQ. There will be a beer garden, so no outside alcohol is allowed.

    • Here is the link to the Facebook event where you can stay up-to-date on the upcoming information.  Please let us know you are going!

    • Parking update: Benedictine College is allowing parking in the Murphy Recreation Parking Lot off of Mound Street.  We are working on getting shuttles to take people from the parking lot, two blocks over, to the event. But the walk is not too far.  You can also park in the neighborhood.

    • If you would like to volunteer as an entrance or porch volunteer please do so here.

    • Many thanks to our Event Sponsors: Thrivent (Jennifer Maxwell), SP Accounting, Rainbow Communications, Atchison Rotary Club, True Roots Massage, the Rieger Family, Gateway Realty & Auction, and Live Well Atchison County. Thank you!

Please let me know if you have any questions or great ideas!

Sincerely,

Heidi Grossman (formerly Hulsizer)

President  - Project Atchison
