August 5 Meeting Reminder + Elections!

Greetings from Project Atchison!

This will be my last monthly update as president of Project Atchison.  I have enjoyed my time helping to give back to the community that I have come to love.  At our next monthly meeting we will be electing new board members, and one will be the new president.  Please join the group on Tuesday, August 5 at 7pm at the Atchison Event Center.  We will also be voting on the positions of secretary, treasurer, and general board member.  This is a great chance to get involved and to help shape the future of Project Atchison - all are welcome to make a positive difference in our community!

What else is new?

• A mural! Work is already underway prepping the walls at the corner of 9th and Commercial.  Mural designs are due Aug.15 and we will be painting in September.  Please reach out if you want to help.

• Match Day - 4-7pm, August 22 at the Atchison Event Center (710 S. 9th).   This come-and-go event is a great chance to see the work area nonprofits are doing in the community and to give to great causes.  Matching funds of $150,000 will be available to provide a prorated match for funds raised by participating fundholders, like Project Atchison.  We will be raising funds for the mural and for next year's PorchFest.  Here is a link for more information.

• Music Bingo, Oct. 2 - a fundraiser at Servaes Brewing Company (118 S. 2nd). Save the date!
