About the Event
EVENT DETAILS
Match Day is scheduled as a happy hour from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, at the Atchison Event Center. Online gifts begin Friday, August 23rd, and run through the weekend. Check donations can be mailed to the Atchison Area Community Foundation at P.O. Box 387, Atchison, KS 66002, and must be postmarked on or before August 25, 2024. All mailed donations must include a completed Donation Form. The donation form will be available for download on the "Printable Donation Form" tab found above after July 25, 2024.
Fund holders are encouraged to participate and set up displays at the in-person event on August 23.
DONATION INFORMATION
Matching funds of $125,000Â are available to provide a 60% match for funds raised by participating fundholders. Combined donations up to a total of $8,333 will be matched at 60%, giving a maximum of $5,000 in matching funds to any one organization.
Donors will select which organization fund(s) to support. 100% of their donation will go to the selected organization’s AACF fund. Although gifts of any amount are welcome and encouraged, donations of a minimum of $25 will receive a local match at 60¢ on the dollar up to a maximum of $8,333 per charitable organization per donor.
For example, Jane Doe makes a $1,000 donation to Organization X, therefore, $1,000 will go to Organization X's AACF fund. Then, Organization X will also receive a $600 match from AACF. If Jane Doe makes a $10,000 donation to Organization X, the matching grant from AACF will be maxed out at $5,000.
Combined donations up to a total of $8,333Â will be matched at 60%, giving a maximum of $5,000 in matching funds to any one organization.
Donations are tax-deductible.
If donors provide an email address, all gifts (cash, check, and online) will generate an email receipt at the time of the donation, and an additional receipt will not be mailed. If no email address is provided, donations made by cash or check will receive a receipt letter after the event. Cash gifts will also receive a handwritten receipt at the event.
Each individual donor should write one check made payable to AACF for a total of all gifts to various agencies. A separate form will be used to indicate which fund(s) the donation will benefit. Donations by participating organizations to their own fund will not qualify for the match or incentive prizes.
Donors are encouraged to make gifts in person at the event. If a donor is not able to attend the event and does not want to make an online gift remotely, another individual may bring a gift in for them. Checks should be dated 08/25/2024.
Volunteers will be available at the event to accept checks & cash gifts as well as assist with online donations.
